Did you know?
One of the challenges of understanding Channel Islands National Park is the park's size: Five islands and thousands of square miles of undersea terrain encompass hundreds of species, many of them found nowhere else.
The new visitor center tower allows visitors to view the park's ecosystems from the deep sea to the surface as they climb or descend the park's prominent tower.
This video from the Ventura County Star provides a great overview of the new tower exhibit!
For visitors who don't wish to climb the tower's five flights of stairs and for those who cannot, the highlights of the tower murals are included in three wrap-around murals inside the visitor center elevator.
